Income Tax Declarations 2013

    Tuesday, 1 April, 2014

The period for applying your draft Spanish income tax declaration for 2013 (IRPF 2013) began on 1st April 2014. The simplified PADRE program is now available for download from the Spanish Tax Office (AEAT) website.

You can submit declarations online through the PADRE program from 23/04/2014 to 30/06/2014 (if you have extra tax to pay and are doing so by direct debit, the deadline is 25/06/2014). Payment of the first rebates will begin on 5th May.

The appointment service will begin on 5th May and is accessible through the Spanish Tax Office web page. This service is especially important for taxpayers who submitted their declaration on paper last year because this year handwritten declarations are no longer allowed. The Inland Revenue offer the possibility of going to the Tax Office to fill your declaration in there electronically. To do so you need a special appointment to produce your declaration.

Another new aspect for income tax declarations this year is PIN 24 horas, which you can use to obtain your draft declaration and tax details. You can also use it to file your declaration or view the status of any rebate owed.

There are also new aspects regarding access to the Income Tax 2013 portal: the Tax Office's website (www.agenciatributaria.es) now offers a mobile app tailored to smartphones and tablets.
