Self-employed people avoid sick leave as much as possible, as a long absence can lead to a reduction in income and an increase in expenses, resulting in a financial imbalance that affects family life. To minimise this impact, Op de Beeck & Worth's sick leave insurance offers peace of mind to compensate for the loss of income in the event that you have to take a few days off work.
For freelance or self-employed professionals who wish to cover their income in the event of a temporary incapacity which prevents them from carrying out their usual work for a limited period of time. For professionals who work in activities that require a certain amount of physical effort and those who work in offices or commercial activities.
Temporary incapacity insurance is designed to provide individuals with financial support in the event that they are unable to continue working due to illness or accident.
Initially the policy works by setting the daily amount you would like to receive if you were unable to work. In the event of an accident or illness that makes you temporarily unable to work, your policy will compensate you with the agreed amount until you are able to return to work (subject to a maximum of 365 days).
This type of policy is particularly suitable for professionals and the self-employed, as the cover provided by social security is not sufficient to replace the lost income due to an inability to work.
In addition, with our temporary incapacity insurance, no prior medical examination is necessary. All you need is a to complete a proposal form and declaration of health.
The main coverage is the daily compensation due to time off work resultant from illness or accident. The payment of the corresponding benefit is established according to the days in which the insured person is incapacitated for his habitual professional activity due to illness or accident. There is also optional coverage for:
- Medical assistance following an Accident
- Income for absolute disability
- Medical hospitalisation
The cost of the insurance depends mainly on the amount of money to be paid in the event of sick leave. As an example, for a daily compensation of €100, the annual premium would be around €900 per year.
